What is Counselling?
Grief & Bereavement
Depression & Anxiety
But what is Counselling?
Counselling is a confidential and calming space where an individual can openly share and explore their world and the difficulties they are experiencing in an effort to bring about self-awareness and change.
One of the wonderful things about counselling is that it can be a space to bring almost anything!

Here are just a few presenting issues that some consider bringing to the counselling space...
Although we know we will experience grief and bereavement in our lives, this doesn't make it any easier when we are met with the pain and loss.
Through counselling we can explore the mix of emotions that accompany a bereavement, explore relationships and discover ways of coping.
Loss and grief can also be due to breakup of relationships, changing life stages, financial, identity, health etc.
Depression and anxiety can feel like a very scary place. Feeling scared and stuck and not knowing if anyone understands.
Exploring those complicated feelings in counselling can help to identify what is having a negative effect on your mental health, where it may have originated, and methods of coping with anxiety and stress. Keeping self-care routines in mind!
Identity &
Self-esteem
Self-identity stems from how we see ourselves and our levels of self-worth. Sometimes it can be easy to compare our qualities to other people which can have a damaging effect by limiting our confidence.
Counselling can help to build self-acceptance and gain the confidence back. It can help you to explore your qualities, characteristics, and maybe even initiate change towards a happier you.
Relationships
Counselling can be a good place to explore the relationships in your life, past and present.
Exploring how you feel within those relationship, how they have changed and moulded you, and repetitions in attachment patterns.
Identifying our role and behaviour within our relationships can help to uncover issues, and ultimately their solutions.
Online
Online counselling has become a very popular choice for many individuals and has made it possible for more people to access the services they require. Online helps to deliver counselling in the comfort of a clients home.
Telephone
I am also able to offer counselling services via telephone. If you would prefer to use this method, please do ask and I am happy to arrange this with you upon our initial conversations.
Face to Face
From 2025 I will be offering Face to Face sessions, in a confidential space. I will update my website then, thankyou.
